SchoolApp is currently accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year.
Applications for the 2027–2028 school year opens on October 1, 2026 and closes on March 1, 2027. Apply before March 1st to be included in the lottery.
An application can be submitted online anytime after the deadline and will be added to the waitlist in the order it was received.
First, create a family profile. Once this is done you will be able to apply to as many schools on the application as you would like.
If you already have a family profile, you will use this same login information each year that you apply.
After you submit your application, you will be entered into a lottery for each school you selected. If a school receives more applications than available seats, a computer will randomly generate a list to assign those seats and determine waitlist order. If there are fewer applicants than seats, everyone who applied will receive an offer. You will be notified of these results on March 8, 2027, at 4:00 PM through your preferred communication method. Please note that any applications submitted after March 1, 2027, will be added to the waitlist in the order they were received.
While you may receive multiple offers, you can only accept one seat at a time. Once you accept an offer, you must decline all other offers and remove yourself from the waitlists of any schools you ranked lower. However, you are permitted to stay on the waitlist for any schools you ranked higher than the one you accepted. If a higher-ranked school offers you a seat later on, you may accept it, but doing so will automatically withdraw you from your current seat. The system is designed to ensure you receive the best possible option based on your preferences while only holding one spot within the participating schools.
Once you accept your seat within the app, you will receive enrollment instructions via text and/or email. You will complete your enrollment with the one school you have accepted a seat to. Please note that your seat is not secure until enrollment is complete.

About Us
SchoolAppSTL streamlines the school application process for families in the St. Louis Public School boundaries. It is a special project of Show Me MO Schools, a nonprofit with a mission to help parents understand their school options, in partnership with a number of local St. Louis organizations committed to educational equity.

Coming Soon
SchoolAppSTL is dedicated to data driven responses. Parents need to be included in the decision making process. SchoolAppSTL will spend the entire first year conducting research with the St. Louis University Prime Center to determine how families currently navigate the complex and fragmented school systems in St. Louis. We will be seeking feedback from schools, parents, and community partners on solutions and structures to support parents in school navigation. Once that research is complete we will share it publicly here. Please look for more information about the project to come.

SchoolAppSTL Community Partners
Education is a vital part of our community. We endorse SchoolAppSTL because we believe that education should be easily accessible to all families in St. Louis. As a community partner that works to improve educational outcomes, we believe that SchoolAppSTL is an important step to achieve this goal.
